Saturday 7th February – Tacoma
Our first night on the bus done and we all slept really well – very comfortable bunks. We spent some time organising our stuff in the very limited storage spaces. Nobody knows where anything is! The routine will be to get the cases out of the hold at theatres or hotels and swap clothes etc. over. All the venues provide showers and catering and we have access from 8am usually.
Today’s venue is a traditional theatre. Pantages is the name of an entrepreneur who owned over 100 theatres. Only three now remain.

A rainy day so just a quick outing for coffee and then holed up for some admin time. There is some nice architecture.

We all feel a bit apprehensive today as it is the first time in a different theatre, having settled into the Kitsap venue for the last few days. It is a beautiful theatre though and the sound was much better. It has been restored recently having been used as a cinema, and all the original decor was restored. An elderly lady visiting after being in the theatre regularly in her youth commented that the skylight in the ceiling was missing so they excavated and found it behind layers of plaster. Nice story!

It was the best show so far and Martin and Richard were very pleased with it. They fly home tomorrow with Jill (production manager) so we are on our own from now on!
It was a 4.00 show so over by 5.00 and we had the rest of the evening off. Buses leave for our next stop, Canada, at midnight.
