Amanda and Graham's Great Pig Adventure

Monday 11th March. Day off with day rooms.

We had a slow start and made the most of the hotel room. Then walked to the Arkansas River with Steve and Lisa. There are some lovely old skyscrapers with ornate tops and, by the river, some fabulous houses! It is obviously the place to be! A wide fast river and we didn’t see any wildlife until we had a close view of a Red-shouldered hawk, which was lovely. Then we came to “Gathering Place” a small park with a lake (more slider turtles which we have seen in a few places). It was a hot day, up to 28 degrees, so we got an Uber back.

In the evening almost the whole company went to a wine bar close to our hotel which had live jazz. They were excellent, especially the bass player, and two of our company got up to do spots – Evie sang and Rob played violin. A really lovely evening with everyone together.
