Saturday 4th April
A lovely hot and sunny day today – out with the summer clothes! Unfortunately it was a busy day with two shows. First call at 10.30, soundcheck for the 1.00 show. Luckily we have been here before, with cousin Cindy in 2019, so we didn’t feel the need for an early get-up and dash around! We did go out after soundcheck to the city hall area. Lots of beautiful grand buildings here, it’s a lovely city.

After the first show we dashed out again and I only just got back in time for the pre-show playing in the auditorium stint! We saw the Liberty Bell (through the glass, we didn’t have time to queue up to go inside) and some of the Old Town which I remembered from our previous visit, but ran out of time.

Second show was at 4.00 (3.30 in the auditorium) and was a sensory performance. They were both good shows though and not too noisy in the sensory one (there can be a lot of talking throughout these!)

Then we had a quick get-out, grabbed some catering in to-go boxes (chicken fajitas with all the accompaniments – really good!) and we were off by 5.45! The buses had to park a block away and came one at a time to the alley by the loading bay to load the crates onto the trailers. It was quite an operation. We were first in and out and drove to a rendezvous at a service station about half an hour away to wait for the other bus. A long drive tonight, about 8 hours including a fuel stop, through Baltimore and Washington to Durham in North Carolina. We finished another series on Netflix – it is fun watching things together in a group! We have to wait until Wednesday for the final episode of the other programme we are watching.
