Sunday 12th April – Chrysler Hall
Just a potter out for coffee in the morning before the 11.30 soundcheck. These are down to a set routine now. First the pigs and Evie say their first few lines to check the mics, then we check whether the mallet pad has decided to link up today (electronic timps etc.) – a bit hit and miss sometimes! We also need to check the levels in the wedges so we can all hear the timps and double bass clearly, then we all play and sing the “Muddy Puddles” tune which features the whole ensemble. It is also the time for “Parish Notices” – any announcements for the day – food of course, departure time, meeting point for the pre-show auditorium players and arrangements for any “Meet and Greet” after show events (when audience can pay to have a personal meeting with Peppa, George and Evie and some photos).

It was a spread out audience and we had a wailing child front and centre, but overall they were a good audience.
We went to the water front after the show and watched while a cruise ship left. It had to set off in the wrong direction and do a full pirouette turn to go back out to sea the way it had sailed in. Quite entertaining to watch and all in very slow motion.

There was an old Naval ship moored and three in dry dock having work done.

We liked the Norfolk signs!

We walked along the front for a while and bumped into some of the others on hired scooters which looked fun!

Then the evening disappeared as gradually the whole company coalesced in a bar! It was lovely to have everyone together. We are all realising that we are nearing the end of our adventure and we are all so sad. No-one is ready to go home!
