Monday 23rd February

A long drive back again overnight, back to where we were and beyond. Hotel breakfast and early check-in. Two days off here and luckily the weather is glorious and we have an outdoor pool (freezing!) and jacuzzi (lovely and warm!) It was so nice to get some different clothes out of the suitcases, we have been going round and round the same things so far. There isn’t anything to do here, although we are tantalisingly close to Bryce and even the Grand Canyon, but all the tours are from Las Vegas which is an hour and 15 minutes away in the wrong direction and they leave at 6.00am! Forced switch off and relaxation. Pool, a big shopping expedition for the bus (we have $100 shopping budget for mutual supplies, sadly not including alcohol!) and ourselves (gin, tonic, wine….) a bit of binoculars time but not much about, then out to Peggy Sue’s 50s style Diner which is on site with a group of 9, which was fun.

Tuesday 24th February

Three weeks since we arrived! Gosh it is going by quickly. Another day off and glorious weather again. We found a walking trail along the Virgin River and saw lots of birds, some new to our list. Beautiful scenery with mountains in the background. We were thwarted by the changed path of the river after heavy rains earlier so couldn’t finish our round walk and instead had to retrace our steps.

We were out from 11.30 to 4.30 and then had a late lunch on the bus. In the evening six of us got together and played cards – new to us but fun. Others went bowling but we know we are both useless at that!!! Usual 12.00 departure, to Ogden, Utah. Nice sunset with the mountains glowing red.

Thanks for all the beautiful photos up through March 1!! You certainly are having wonderful experiences and scenery!! Sorry that you were so close to Bryce but missed it: Sam and I enjoyed Bryce. The theaters in which you are playing are magnificent! I am taking a friend Joyce (who lives just down Sweet Birch from me) to York on March 11 to do a “dry run” to the Pullo Center and for lunch at the restaurant where we will be eating in York, the White Rose City! Love, Cindy
