Peachtree, Georgia

Saturday 18th April

Today we were playing in an open air auditorium. It was a hot day, up to 30 degrees, so we were a bit worried about the instruments, but the stage was under cover, so it was OK. It was in the middle of woods with trails nearby and a large lake on the other side of a main road, not too far away. There were golf buggies everywhere which seem to be the locals’ favoured mode of transport.

We had an impromptu shopping trip, for stickers, of course, and some birthday treats for Simone, our percussionist so I hopped onto that for something to do! Trader Joe’s is a supermarket which seems to have a bit of a cult following!

We walked to the lake with Steve and Lisa after sound check. There are some dream houses around there!!!

It was an early show at 3.30 and had a nice atmosphere, being outside.

Afterwards we walked in the woods and along some boardwalks and saw some white-tailed deer which were quite tame.

The buses left at 8pm as it is a long drive. We had a fuelling stop – at Buc-ee’s again! We had stopped at one of these earlier in the tour. They a petrol stations but with a huge shop and freshly cooked food such as brisket – very popular!
