Thursday 23rd April
Back here again for a day off, in a different hotel this time a bit further out of town. We had an early start as we had booked an Everglades boat trip with four friends. We got an Uber to Kissimmee about half an hour south and left about 8.15. It was another lovely day. We immediately started seeing birds while we waited at the jetty. There were just us 6 and 3 others so it was a lovely low key trip. The skipper and his young helper were both very informative about the various alligators and birds.
We were back for lunch on the bus – trying to use up all the food in the fridges – then spent the rest of the afternoon at the hotel pool. We found a really good Thai restaurant nearby for dinner to round off another lovely day.
We saw a sign on the way which amused Graham…
Buses left at midnight for Fort Lauderdale, about 3-4 hours drive.
